Bella Bliss!

Snuck in a layout this afternoon while the youngest was taking a much needed nap before the festivities tonight.

I used Bliss and added some Vanilla Cream cardstock for the scalloped trim and main photo mat. The base Colonial White is spritzed with some homemade shimmer spray in the spray pen - fill to the second to top line with water then add a dab of Create-A-Shade pearl paint and 5 drops of Chocolate reinker. It gives a great sparkle to the page and ties in the paper with the gray butterflies which features a light chocolate sponge effect that looks almost Smoothie. Hence the Smoothie flowers! The blue butterflies are 1st and 2nd generation stamped in Indian Corn Blue. These are from My Acrylix Trellis which I bought just for this layout after I couldn't find a suitible flower in my stash #thethingsidoforscrapbooking!

Hope you are having a great Independence Day weekend! I can't wait to break out the tripod tonight for fireworks!

Warm wishes,

Trish

2 Studio J Layouts in 30 Minutes

Here are my 2 layouts in 30 minutes! These pages are super simple and also illustrate what you can expect from an easy-peasy session with no technical skillz necessary! I created these as some of my first layouts and I kept the embellishments and kits to what was suggested by the software. To make it even easier, on the first layout I even deleted the journalling block, because the title seemed enough at the time!

On this second layout the title is where the journalling was suggested. I deleted the block and added a Quick-Title alphabet to it and used one of the accent squares to add the date and event. If you would like to make 2 layouts in 30 minutes, give me a call and we'll walk through them in person or over the phone. Contact me at 801.910.8698 or slvrlinin@live.com and don't forget you can still get a free download of your layout until tomorrow at 11:59 pm!!

Flooding at Murray Park

While I am working tonight dealing with the flooding, Brandon decided to GO to the floods! This is Murray Park acting as the flood plain which it was designed as.

It is pretty cool to see, I admit! It hasn't been this bad since 1983's El Nino floods when State Street turned into a river. Murray park did flood last year, too, with overflow into the #2 lane northbound but was clear after a few hours.

In addition to natural disasters, it's West Fest in West Valley City (always FUN from a public safety standpoint), Taylorsville Dayzz and the Extreme Home Makeover Utah Edition project in Daybreak. Man! I haven't worked a swing in a long time. What a weekend to refresh! Hope your weekend has MUCH less mayhem!

Warm wishes,

The spot where we took our family pictures 8 years ago when Brook was a baby - totally under water now!

Funny!

The bridge is totally wiped out here.

The hill on the north side at 330 e, where we used to rollerblade.

Almost looks like the south with the weepy cyprus trees you always see in pictures!

Looks peaceful, but you can see how fast it's moving and how dangerous it is.

The ropes show where the banks of the river normally are.

A Lucky Thank You

This is the card that went into our prize package at last Saturday's Job's Daughters Crop and Boutique. We gave away $25 in a combined prize worth over $200. (Remember, They invited us back in the fall, so I'll post details for you as we get them so you can join in the fun!)

I used Lucky papers for this card with a little chocolate cardstock for the base. It's a pretty simple card, but it has some WOW power with the big 'Thanks' and sparkly organza bow (one thing I love about organza is how it catches the light.)

I'll be posting the results of my Blog Candy Contest in a few hours as well (as soon as I get out of the doctor's office for our ultrasound-more on this tomorrow!) so stay tuned for those announcements as well.

Have a great day out there and enjoy the summer day! It's only getting better this week!

Warm wishes,
Trish

Happy Father's Day

Here's a shout-out to all the dads out there! Have a great day enjoying your family and friends- even with the rain!

The idea behind the apple tree is that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I made this for the kids to give to Brandon. Sadly the kids are out of town this weekend camping in Fish Lake, so we'll celebrate when they get home.

This card features:

Bliss papers (on the inside)
Cranberry and Colonial White cardstock.
Stamps: Grown With Love, Nov '10 SOTM for the sentiment
Olive, Cranberry and Chocolate inks
Cranberry Ribbon Round

Warm wishes!

We'll have cute make and takes plus prizes and more! (And don't forget, if you come visit us, you can get 5 ENTRIES into my Blog Candy Contest *with $80 in prizes* ending tomorrow night!)

Here's another big shout-out to my top sellers for the month of May! These two cards are from Fanfare, which I'm featuring next month in my Play Dates (you can read all about them on the right side-bar of my blog), but first just a reminder that you can still get the You & Me kit from National Scrapbooking Month for only $15 in a special extended campaign to help the recent tornado victims of the midwest. Yep, all proceeds from these sales are going relief efforts to help our own neighbors. It's a great cause and a great kit. Congrats Yvonne!

Yvonne had the highest sales of our team for the month of April! (Yes, I'm a little behind in recognitions as I get the hang of having a downline.) Here is the card she'll be receiving tonight from me as a thank you for her excellent efforts!
