Black Magic Stamping

This is a cool technique I found on YouTube and thought I'd try it out. You can watch the video of it here. It's really easy, plus you get to COLOR! I love to color so this was a real treat!

You want to start with a dark cardstock base for your image. I used Chocolate today. Then choose a bold stamp and ink it up with White Daisy pigment ink, stamp and then heat set with your embossing Craft Heater. You want to make sure the ink is completely dry, but no house fires, ya hear? Next, grab your watercolor pencils and.. you guessed it! COLOR! The ink gives you wa light base so your colors just POP off the page!

Some tips I found to help you: Dark colors are percieved as closer, so use your bolds and lights together to give your image some depth. You can overstamp your images without masking. Just make sure the one you want "in front" is the last one stamped so the edges of the image are preserved and you don't have strange diagonal lines running through your flower... Get creative! Black doesn't have to be the only dark color you use as shown here. What about Pansy Purple? Hmm.. maybe I'll try that next..
